Reference

Pairs source + romanization.

ALA-LC default

Most English-language cataloging in North America uses ALA-LC romanization tables. The system picker offers the ALA-LC tables Interscript ships for the most common non-Latin scripts.

Parallel 880 fields

Per MARC 21 conventions, the 880 field carries the romanized form of a vernacular field. The tool emits 880 next to the original line for easy copy into your record.

Subfield-aware

The parser only romanizes subfield content, leaving codes ($a, $b…) intact. ASCII-only subfields pass through unchanged.

Local-only

Nothing is uploaded. Useful for sensitive acquisition records in progress or restricted collections.
